Bali, September 2020 – The Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa, Bali introduces its latest eco-initiative, the newly started sustainable garden. This garden grows fresh chilies organically and features small red and large green chilies.
Set in the hotels landscaped gardens, the chili shrubs are grown using a combination of soil and hydroponic systems. The chili shrubs are potted in organic soil. The pots are then placed on top of a hydroponics water system so that the plants can adsorb moisture and nutrients from the water. This is a closed circuit that keeps garden pests out.
The chili garden is the first hydroponics garden systems installed on the property and the resort has harvested more than 2kg of red and green chilies.
The resort also harvested 25kg of Jackfruit from the hotel gardens on 03rd September 2020. The Jackfruits were sent to “Puri Boga”, the employee restaurant and our talented Chefs processed it into “Gudeg” a traditional Javanese dish and a “Lawar”, a popular Balinese vegetable menu item.
