BALI, Oct 2023 – I Wayan Balawan, the renowned Balinese musician, is a true virtuoso who has consistently captivated audiences worldwide with his talent.

Hailing from Gianyar Bali, he commenced his musical journey since he was eight years old by forming his first band during elementary school. His musical inspiration was deeply rooted in his favorite musicians, such as The Beatles, Deep Purple, and various rock legends, who left an indelible mark on his artistic journey.

After completing high school, his dedication to music earned him a scholarship to the Australian Institute of Music Sydney, where he embarked on a – three-year journey as Diploma of music, mastering jazz guitar and vocals.

In 1997, he returned to Bali and created the Batuan Ethnic Fusion, a unique ensemble blending Balinese gamelan instruments with a passion for jazz-rock. Their debut album, “Globalism,” emerged in 1999.

Taking place on Saturday, November 18th at our Budaya Cultural Theatre, this exciting collaboration offers the audience a spectacular yet culturally rich experience. This event marks the second event at our resort, confirming the resounding success of the first Nusa Dua in Harmony.
